NES to Focus on Career Readiness

As part of the NES A.B.L.E. Program and USD 309 College and Career Readiness initiative, we will have a school wide focus on developing the important skills and attitudes to assist students to be successful in the workplace of the future.  Several approaches will be utilized by the school to encourage students and their families to focus on the student's future dreams, aspirations and desires as well as the skills and steps required to attain them.

District 309 has indicated that College and Career Readiness will help students to develop the necessary academic, technical and thinking skills necessary to pursue additional training, certification, or education past high school or be adequately prepared to enter the work force without the need for any remedial action to fill gaps in their K-12 education.  Equally important is the development of personal and social interaction skills needed to work effectively with others within the work environment.  These "soft employability" skills are already incorporated into the A.B.L.E. program at NES.

We are in need of your assistance in getting students to be excited and passionate about what they wish to do with their futures in order to be productive and self-sufficient  Much like it is difficult to get to a particular destination without a road map, it is equally challenging for our students to be successful in life without a clear direction to develop goals and the skills necessary to attain them.  Throughout the year, activities and information will be provided to aid you with this process.   PLEASE JUMP ON BOARD WITH THIS IMPORTANT ENDEAVOR FOR OUR KIDS' FUTURE SUCCESS!
